Priced from $44,990, the new Ford Mustang will be available in Australia in Fastback and Convertible forms, powered by your choice of a 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbo-petrol four-cylinder or 5.0-litre V8 engines.

Stephen Odell, Ford’s Executive Vice President of Global Marketing, Sales & Service said “Initial global response to the Mustang has been strong, and we are only in second gear”. Mr Odell added “We continue accelerating production and global reach with right-hand-drive models now coming out of the plant.”

And it’s not just about raw power and sexy looks, either. The new Mustang will come packed with technology such as Hands-free voice activated climate control, phone, music and Sat Nav as well as Auto Call Emergency Assistance. The New Mustang also features the new ‘MyKey technology’, to help parents encourage young drivers to drive responsibly by programming your key to restricted driving modes that promote good driving  behaviours such as limited vehicle top speed and decreasing audio volume.

With expected delivery dates now pushed out to around January 2017, the new ‘American Muscle’ sports car has high expectations to live up to.
